John E. Harrity - Partner

John Harrity is a patent attorney with considerable experience in client counseling and preparing and prosecuting patent applications in a variety of electrical and electromechanical technologies, including business methods, telecommunications, computer hardware and software, computer networking, optics, semiconductor processing, and Internet-related inventions. Mr. Harrity has also been involved in analyzing electrical and computer-related inventions for infringement and validity.

Mr. Harrity formerly worked as a law clerk at the law firm of Burns, Doane, Swecker & Mathis, L.L.P. Mr. Harrity is a former Primary Patent Examiner at the United States Patent and Trademark Office. At the Patent Office, Mr. Harrity examined patent applications in the areas of computer hardware and software.

Prior to joining the Patent Office, Mr. Harrity worked as an Electrical Engineer for Cortana Corporation where he participated in and supervised Navy projects directed to advanced submarine technologies. His engineering experience included design and development of noise-cancellation technology, an automated submarine emergency system, and future submarine power systems.
