Thomas Edman - Associate
Tom Edman's practice focuses on the preparation and prosecution of patent applications, strategic counseling, intellectual property licensing and intellectual property litigation support. Tom has represented patent clients in a wide variety of disciplines including radar systems; wireless communications; cable television; computer networks; medical devices and protocols; industrial sorting equipment; coating materials and applicators; and business methods. Tom has provided opinions on infringement and validity of patents. He also has experience with copyright, trademark, trade secret, and parallel import cases.
Prior to joining Harrity Snyder, L.L.P, Tom was formerly an associate with Hogan & Hartson L.L.P. While in law school, he was a member of the William and Mary Law Review and interned in the Office of Patent Counsel at the NASA Langley Research Center.
Before entering the legal profession, Tom was a mechanical engineer with Marconi Systems Technologies, working for the U.S. Navy's Aegis Destroyer Program. His assignments included evaluating designs for numerous structural, mechanical and electrical systems.
